New Delhi: In a major setback to former Miss World and MBBS medico Manushi Chillar, the Medical Council of India Board of Governors (MCI BOG) refused to give nod to her application for MBBS Migration from Haryana's Bhagat Phool Singh Women’s Medical College to a Mumbai-based medical college.

The matter was brought up in the Board of Governors meeting on 13th June 2019, however, the board refused to give their nod to her MBBS migration.

Manushi Chillar is indeed the famed MBBS Medico, who brought laurels to the nation after she bagged the Miss World title in 2017. However, as her career outside academics progressed, her MBBS studies became a matter of controversies.

Manushi had taken admission as an MBBS student in Bhagat Phool Singh Women’s Medical College in the academic year 2015-16. After winning the title of Miss India in June 2017, she applied for leave. She did not report to the medical college since then. Since she is residing in Mumbai and her family has shifted there; post the Miss World title, she wants to pursue the remaining part of her undergraduate course in Mumbai.

Earlier this year, she filed an application seeking migration from Bhagat Phool Singh Women’s Medical College to a Mumbai-based medical college and was given a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Pandit BD Sharma University Rohtak. However, the said NOC became a matter of controversy after it was alleged has been furnished putting the rules on hold for her and without taking permission from the Medical Council of India

The matter of her migration was brought during the apex regulator meeting on 13th June 2019 where the BOG decided not to give her permission for the said migration

The Board of Governors reiterated the earlier decision taken in MCI not to allow migration of Ms. Manushi Chhillar from BPS Government Medical College for Women, Sonepat to Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

As per reports in entertainment dailies, she is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar
