The first-of-its -kind photo chromatic contact lens with transition Light Intelligent Technology that adapts to changing light. The lens has already been approved by the FDA in April, 2018. Now its ready to be launched in the market by Johnson & Johnson company .
The lens have been FDA based on the scientific evidences provided by clinical study of 24 patients that evaluated daytime and night time driving performance while wearing the contact lenses.
The contact lens is said to senses lighting conditions. The manufacturer claim they help the eyes recover faster from bright light, reducing halos and starbursts at night. Its photochromic technology activates the lens in under 1 minute and fades back within 90 seconds. The Company also claim they are the only contact lenses that provides 100% protection against UVB rays.

UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. Long-term exposure to UV radiation is one of the risk factors associated with cataracts. Exposure is based on a number of factors such as environmental conditions (altitude, geography, cloud cover) and personal factors (extent and nature of outdoor activities).
